A king and wahoo look a lot alike. I think it's a wahoo. King fish have spots and the wahoo have stripes. You can see the strips on the picture with the gaff. Awesome fish to catch and even better eating! Good job!

That's the most beautiful cobalt-blue water I have ever seen.

Yeah the middle fish is a Wahoo. They travel in large schools and destroy a lure in the water and dive deep when hooked. They have some serious teeth going on too.

Most definitely a 'hoo.
Great pics too.
Not trying to take anything away here but lots of folks dont realize that we have waters that blue in the gulf. Also, 2 mahi and 1 'hoo would be considered a slow day in the gulf.
Throw in an amberjack or two, a grouper, a few snapper, maybe a tuna or three...now we're talkin'.
Down side is that we gonna have to run 40 to 60 miles to get on 'em.

I couldn't agree with you more land pirate. It was slow should of had more fish in the boat. But you are very right 60 miles out to catch fish is a haul. It's just something about reeling in a mahi, ahi, marlin, or wahoo while looking out across the pacific staring at another island gets me. Can't beat leaving the harbor and within 5 minutes your already fishing.
