Hey guys I have a few questions and I bet some of yall will have some answers. I have recently been looking at buying a 450 bushmaster upper or a complete 450 bushmaster. I have one in mind that is for sale at a gun shop and the only thing holding me back from snapping it up is ammo availability. I cant find that stuff anywhere. I can order it from a couple of places online but once you pay shipping it becomes some pretty high dollar stuff. Is this just a reloaders gun? It looks pretty simple to reload but I dont know much about relading. Do you guys know any secret places to buy 450 bushmaster ammo? I really like the cartridge itself and think it would make an excellent pig gun but I'm not gonna buy a gun I cant get ammo for. So any info on 450 bushmaster ammo availability would be great.

Well I didn't check Academy because I just didn't think they would have it but I called Bass pro in Grapevine and they said they didn't carry it. Cabelas said they didn't have any and didnt know when they would get more. But I will check Academy tonight.

I can't remember where I went recently but they had about 30 boxes of it When I was looking for 6.8 ammo.... I had a .450 before and it wasn't too hard to find most the time. U should try the gun shows when they come in town as well. It's out there u just got to look . Academy sometimes carries my hornady 6.8 ammo . That's all your gonna find is that hornady 250 grain red tip

Do you mean cheaper than dirt the website or the store? The website has them but shipping isn't cheap. And my local academy doesn't carry them either but I can check a few of them.

Yes, the Bushmaster uses .452 bullets; the Socom used .458

450 bushmaster would be a great gun, but at a 1/3 the price on ammo you could go with .300 AAC Blackout and trust me 220grains will lay that piggy out. remington is about 11dollars a box for umc and you can use hornady 300whisper in your 300aac blackout ar15 which is sold at academy as well as remington 300blackout ammo.

Cabelas in allen has had 450 ammo every time i have needed any and a local pawn shop said they could order it for me so you might try any pawn shops if i remember correctly the pawn shops price was cheaper than Cabelas

Thanks for all of the info guys, I think I have decided to go with the 300 blackout. I really like the 450 bushmaster but the 300 blackout is just more practical for me right now. Maybe one day I will pick up that 450 upper though.
