I thought so. Not doubting it's a great axis just didn't look above average to me from the photos.

Anyone know the top 5 axis scores. I can't find them for some reason and want to see where mine lands just for my though. I'm gona have to go get a total on mine though it had 33 and change beams and 33 width, good tine length. I doubt it makes top ten, but would like to see where my 3 on the wall land just for my satisfaction

I don't know, but I think the record came from Bandera County..
My son's is 35" on one side 33" on the other and 30" inside in
velvet...I let him shoot it in Tarpley when he was 12...Don

Jeremy,
I know when my buck was shot years back it went 182" in ROE. Next time you come by the ranch we can score it and look at our all time TGR book and see what's tops in it. I know We had a high 160' low 170's taken earlier this year as well. I'd say to make top ten you'd need to be in the 170's easily. I'm still curious as to where my buck still stands as well.

Not sure, my guess is this didnt come close to #1. I will measure all my axis this week and see where they come close to this one I by no means am saying this axis isnt 40"....... BUT its very hard to get it close to that unless it had a 18" spread. IMO great looking animals none the less and sweet 4x4 frame. Congrats to the hunter.

That 409cm is TGR and they don't count the spread. Only mass.

yeah i was saying for it to be 40" tall it would have to have a tiny spread and that looks like we will be puting some new entrys in very soon, I have one that should go high up there or close and will know wendsday for sure, and i know CP Wade from porters has a giant

Getting Mr. Porter to score mine...I taped him last night and came up with 433.1 with velvet deductions. I think I'll be submitting mine too. smile

Keep in mind, that the TGR score does NOT include inside spread. So if your comparing it to SCI, you have a circumference that SCI does not take and a inside spread that needs to be put into the score. That axis but they shot is bigger than 161". The TGR takes a base, a circumference between the base and caudal, and between the caudal and the main beam tip. SCI does not include the third circumference and you round up to the nearest 1/8" with SCI. So if if fell between there in centimeter it could possibly gain a little bit more with a SCI measurement.

Yes sir you are correct. The owner and myself are both official scorers for TGR and ROE. In the process of working on becoming a SCI scorer as well.
