As a professional pest control operator of 26 years, I use Snake-Away all the time here in west Texas for control of rattlesnakes around and in structures. If I could get the same results with mothballs, I would use them because they are a lot cheaper. The law of percentages says that you will have some luck with mothballs, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I can easily go through 300-400 pounds of Snake-Away in a summer. A lot of people think mothballs are the same thing. They smell similar because of the napthalene, but it's the sulfur content in it that makes it so effective. Mothballs may keep some of them out, but I can't tell you how many times throughout the years I have seen rattlesnakes curled up right next to a pile of moth crystals or mothballs. If I had to bet mine or my kids lives on something, I would put my money on the Snake-A-Way. Good luck bud.

Take said mothballs & put in a sock. Then beat 'em with a 2 X 4 and mix in sulpher granules.......Use it around the RV when it's parked at the lease. Now using it around the blinds starting early in the season after a misunderstanding with a rather large Rat Snake when I opened the blind door.
Good Luck

Hunt n Fish,I'm going to give this a try. Already killed two rattlers by the house this year.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.
