Headed to Alberta Canada to try to do a spot and stalk black bear hunt with my bow! I have two mixed feelings right now. First, I cannot explain how exited I am to shoot one, maybe two, black bears! Second, and the biggest thing, I feel unprepared. Since this is my first BIG guided archery hunt, i feel like i am going to get up there and forget to do something. Do any of yall have any tips or suggestions of extra things to bring for archery bear hunting? Thanks! Everything is appreciated!

Extra underwear. After you crap yours when that bear freaks out from the arrow you'll need them.

Wow I leave on the 26th. Heading to the town of Slave Lake in Alberta. Any of you guys going near there? We fly into Edmonton on the 26th and drive 3 hours north to Slave Lake. This will be my 3rd hunt there and my second time for archery bear.

Take a pair of goggles for your eyes or a mask just in case you go on long 4-wheeler trip. A thicker pair of gloves for the ride is also a smart thing to have. The nights get cold and a hour drive in 30 degree weather is tuff on a Texas boy!!!! A foldable bow bag is another thing needed to keep the mud off your bow.

Congrats first off! What a great hunt you had. Did you have to use that extra set of underwear? That first bear looks HUGE I actually made a stalk on a big sow with her young cub. She stood on her back legs and spotted us and then got down and huffed and puffed. I then knew that we should back away quickly! So, maybe i did use the extra set of underwear....
