I had no problems with it. Of course, low light and you are better off with a first focal plane reticle in #1, #4 or #8. A used Kahles Helia C would fit the bill perfectly.

That's a fact.

It all depends on the usage. For a hunting rig Z3 and Conquest are better choices IMO. Glass on NF is not the best but it is adequate for normal hunting usage. All those tactical features though make it a much heavier scope.

Very well put.

I would have to disagree with you. I would say they are very close. So close that the human eye cannot tell the difference. You would have to have a computer analyze and tell you the optical difference.

On the NF you are paying for the tactical features. For the same price you'll get much better glass without them. The question is individual of course, do you need the features?

For example Kahles Helia C 2.5-10x50 weights 3oz less and offers better glass for much less money. Minox ZA5 2-10x40 is 5oz less and only fraction of the money while still offering glass that is just as good.

Another great fact.

Swaro is the one I'm leaning towards! But I can get the Conquest for $599 as a demo and the Z3 is much more. [/quote]

True, but Swarovski has anniversary pricing going on right now. And you can also find great deals from Swaro on our www.samplelist.com

It is tough, but it is only because the lines are not as dark, like the BRH reticle.

I am a big fan of the Nikon Monarch 5x20x44. They run $529, but you can occasionally find them on sale. If there is a better product at the same price point, I would love to know.

You could find these scopes at the same price point:

Minox ZA5 4-20x50
Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50
Weaver Super Slam 4-20x50

I agree with Sami on the Minox.

I think this is something you would be very pleased with. They are great scopes. Both the ZA3 and ZA5. Just awesome.

I'll have respectfully disagree with you when I tested there was no comparison between the two. Under a full and 3/4 moon you could clearly read small writing on paper 25 yards away while the Zeiss all that you could do is tell there was writing and letters there.
