my dad found these two hung up on a ranch he works on in southwest jack county. this pic is from 2011. has anyone else ran across this befor e?

Oh man! I know a guy round Crockett fround two bucks he'd been seeing on his game camera locked up and dead during the season.

Yea thats to bad, but it happen's.

I heard a story from my grandad about something like that in mason. He said 2 bucks got in a fight and one died while they where still locked up. So the other one threw him up on his back and was carrying him on his back. Then a guy saw him while hunting and shot him. He didn't know whether to use one tag or two.

now thats one heck of a story. guess he got more buck for his bang

yea it is sad. i had been hunting that place all season looking for one of four bucks out there and after season these two were found. im sure the coyotes liked it but i sure would of liked to had one in my freezer.

We've separated two pair that have been locked up. Don't know if they made it after that, they were all really worn out.

Actually had the pleasure of cutting two loose once, it was tuff, and took some good rope work, but we did it.

Nothing good about that.

Found 5 pair of bucks locked up before. 3 pair that both bucks were dead, 1 pair with one buck dead and one alive and 1 pair with both bucks alive but one did not make it due to stress and died later. There is nothing good about it.

Found a couple locked up like that a couple of years ago.

There's three in this mess.

Those are some studs. Terrible, but it is the circle of life.

The thing that sucks is that smaller deer typically run when a big buck goes after them, and their lack of antlers doesn't lead to entanglement.

The bigger the antler with 2 bucks fighting, the higher the likelihood of getting locked up.

A lot of what I have seen causing bucks to get their antlers locked has been nontypical points. I have seen a set of locked bucks that had a 19-20" inside spread buck locked with a 27" inside spread buck. It was due to a couple of nontypical points and a really hard turn in on the end of the main beams on the narrower buck that was their demise.

Well that why they were stuck. Somebody zip tied them together
