It's funny that a hog can hide in a wheat field and how close you can get to them. I'm 6'3", 250 and I walked to within 17 yds, down wind, in the open.
Thanx again JJ, see you in a year. mc

P.S. i'll work on shooting offhand

We'll see if we can get that BIG DUDE we saw in the plowed field next year!! up

Glad you had a good time!

We'll Had Jonathan and Jayson (THF'rs) come up yesterday afternoon...

I had talked to Jonathan a couple times on the phone and he had told me they have been after these pigs for sometime now, and have YET to see one or even get a shot at one!

I told him that I have a field that they would enjoy hunting!

(of course being skeptical from prior hunts, he asked several questions, etc...and me not wanting to jinx myself, tried to tell them there was "PLENTY" of hogs hitting this field)

Here are some Game Camera pic's:

Of course most of the pigs don't get on camera...

Anyways, Jayson and Jonathan show up and I take them out, dropping them off at 6:30 at their stands (tripods).

Within minutes they had hog activity...

Jayson actually watched over 20 pigs feed on his feeder before he finally pulled the trigger! (very nice self constraint!) up

Then after he shot, the "herds" plural ran towards Jonathan.

Jonathan took two boars out at less than 30 yards! rifle

In the ruckus Jayson then had a pocket pig run towards him where he dropped her.

One hour after I dropped them off 4 Pigger's on the GROUND! food

Congrat's to Jonathan and Jayson! cheers

It was very nice to meet ya'll, and glad that ya'll had a GREAT time! (see ya' again soon) smile

I had JR and his wife Amy come up last night...

Amy has been after a pig for a little while now, and has had one opportunity, but it didn't pan out with another guide...

So JR gave me a shout and I hooked him up! smile

Not long after I dropped them off a small 75 pound boar ran past them...

Then about 9:30 a nice sized 110 pound boar came out and Amy pulled her Black gun up and dropped him cold one shot to the head!!! rifle (a couple more for good measures) and She had accomplished her goal!!

Congrat's to AMY!!! (and JR)

I also Kris and his son Jake come up for Jake's First hog hunt!! (they have tried to stalk them but never hunted from a blind)

When I dropped them off we could hear the pigs in the woods, and told them to get ready...only problem was the pigs went the other way! confused2

After a while, Jake decided they needed to start shootin' coons! partyon555

They ended up shootin' several, but only one stayed around for a picture. smile

Kris, it was nice to meet you and your boy! Look forward to ya'll coming back again soon! up

J.J.

Rifle or bow...still 100% at your place, J.J. Can't beat results like that. Thanks for the opportunity to get Amy her first hog. cheers She chattered like a squirrel all the way home and texted everyone in her phone. She's already contemplating her next hog hunt at your place.

Love the pics and the irony of a woman with diamonds on both hands and around her neck holding a black rifle next to her recent kill...sheesh! loco

My daughter and I are supposed to hunt hogs this fall north of Nocona on a friends property that borders the Red River. They only hunt at night with shotguns and slugs using spotlights. What is wrong with using a rifle? Can't you just use one of those spotlights than clamp on to a scope, or use some sort of laser sight? I am looking for suggestions.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

Pig's are either in Large groups or singles...

Few pic's of both:

Was talking to the farmer when these started coming out of the Wheat!!

Some singles:

Small group:

Hunter came back up last night...took out this 180 pound lone boar at 115 yards. (this makes 2 pigs in 3 days, success on both evenings!)

Really seeing a lot of pigs right now...
