The guy that started all that fuss, John Lloyd Scharf, came to that conclusion himself. There is nothing in the TPWD regulations that states that someone can specifically kill a Bigfoot, since Bigfoot it not a scientifically recognized specie. Scharf mis-quoted the TPWD, plus took quotes out of context, when he made the claim. No other state within the U.S. has any regulation that protects Bigfoot, nor do they recognize it as a specie. There are a few counties in certain states that do have ordinances against harming or killing a Bigfoot. Scharf put out his press release simply to draw attention to his blog and his book. He is a former prison guard, a self-proclaimed expert, and is often shunned in the Bigfoot research community because he is extremely argumentative. The Fox News Network saw this as a way to grab a headline and did not verify the facts!
