Looking for the best place and price on a fiberglass gun blind. I want a 4X6, NO TOWER, just the box. All replies will be greatly appreciated.

ilike2hunt2 I went to Gander Mtn in Spring, TX last night. They have a new product there for just over $1000, just what you are looking for. It seems pretty well made but doesn't have the high dollar sliding windows, they are inside hinged (at the bottom) and fold inward from the top and use little plastic things to turn on a screw to hold it shut. The locking door is on the side and has a smaller window then the two front and back. I'm guessing the main windows are 12X9. It has a shelf on the opposite side, and a small "gun lean" next to the door in the corner. There is no carpet on the plywood floor and you will have to install that yourself if you want it. The exterior does not have gel coat but is left rough with a olive drab type color. I am 5'9 and can stand up fully in it.
I'm not completely sure of this but I think the manufacturer is Fiberglass Hunting Products out of Athens, TX. They do not have a web site that I can find, nor does Gander Mtn show it on their web site (yet).
So, I thought a grand was a bit expensive when I looked at it last night especially since I just completed my 4X6 wooden box blind. I wasn't really going to reply to this but I went to the Gander site, saw it wasn't there, and that started my internet quest for more info. Wow, almost every other one I saw made of fiberglass in this size is double that. So, with almost everything overpriced at Gander at least this looks like it might be a good deal.

I am also looking for a new 4x6 fiberglass stand. Bossbuck.com has one for $995. They are in seagoville TX, just east of Dallas. I have hunted in this stand before and they are very nice. Hope this helps, Chiliman

chiliman this is a ringer for what I saw. Looks the same and fits the description. Jeez even has the stencil too - but I'm positive the ones I saw were made in Athens, TX - oh well, there's one for under a grand.

I like the Dillon fiberglass blinds. They compare to Superior and BossBuck, but I think they are better constructed, oh and cheaper. The Superior blinds had gaps in the fiberglass spray where the walls met the floor that could allow water to penetrate and eventualy rot the wood floor. The spray fiberglass floor on the BossBuck "crackled" ever time you moved on it. They have a dealer list on their website, quite extensive. http://www.dillonmanuf.com/hunting.html
Good Hunting, Gary

Dillon is the way to go...they even have treated wood floors.
Decook...don't know for sure which brand the Spring Gander has but I do know that Dillon Blinds are made in Athens, TX. Not sure about the other.

Boss Blinds are tops on my list. They may be a bit more but are well worth the extra money. We have several at our ranch. I talked to the owner last night at a charity event and they are coming out with a new model. it's going to be an "Economy" model which will be a wooden floor versus the full fiberglass blinds they have now. should be a couple hundred dollars cheaper I believe.

Dillons have flip up windows on the cheaper models. Go with a fiberglass blind with sliding windows and encapsulated fiberglass floor of you can. I have Texas T box and really like them for the money. I think I paid $850 for blind alone.

My dad has a redneck blind and they are great. Well constructed. Easy to setup and be able to move. Cant go wrong but they are a little expensive.
God is deep but he is not complicated.

I have a Dillon that I have had for five years and it is still great. The windows close so tight that bugs don't get in my blind.

We have used a few of the Sportsman's Condo stands. They are hot as hell but solid one piece stands. We have the SC2 and SC3 models. http://www.sportsmanscondo.com/products.htm

Im looking at the Redneck blind too but, I cant find a dealer near here to go and check them out at. I found them pretty cheap at www.ruralking.com & they have 15% off for father's day right now. Anyone out there have one?
