Do any of you guys shoot 150's for deer, pigs, or exotics?
What bullet do you like with them?

What bullet do you like with them? I shoot the 300 Weatherby and 150 grain Nosler Partitions on everything, even took down a big brangus bull with the same load. He dropped like a rock!
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

How well would a 150 gr Federal Fusion or Hornady SST hold up @ 3200-3275fps?

I load a lot of the 150 grain SST in a 300 WM. I highly recommend the SST bullets. They hold together well, are very affordable, and shoot very good. If you look at my website HERE., you can see at the bottom picture a customer that took 2 pigs with 1 shot from a 300WM with a 150 SST. I shoot a lot of SST's from 308, 300WM, and 270 Win.

We had two hunters come in this year shooting 165 grain sst's,
4 deer shot, 4 DRT
As with all hornady products I was very impressed.
Give them a whirl

I shoot 165 gr Federal Trophy Bonded Tips from my 300 WM. I shot an Oryx and an Elk this year with it. Oryx went 10-20 yards or so, and the elk took a few steps before she dropped.
Hold your gun straight, and turn your cell phone sideways... when shooting video.

Why were you shooting cattle? Probably wild or down....shot a wild bull one time after three day of trying to caught it...jump out of the catch trailer before got the half gate shut, jumped out of the pens also..third time came back up my rope broke my horses leg...shot him with a 243 right between the eyes at about 100 yards where the dogs bayed him...then had to shot my horse...... two days later bought a dart gun If it wasn't for those bay dogs I'd be dead... When my horse went down..only time I ever been thankful to see a pit and cur dogs

yes, I carry my 300 wm with 150 gr sp, a few hunts every year and shoot deer, hogs and coyotes with it (whatever needs to be shot)
I just shoot factory Remington or Federal whatever they happen to have that year at Academy...
Works great, always DRT

There's minimal difference in 150 vs. 165 for hunting Texas game.

Thanks guys, already have some 150's. I'll pick up some 165's this week and see which shoots best.

one isn't any better than the other. x3 to me the only thing the 165gr. does is (if shooting some type of bonded bullet) allow you to shoot larger breeds of exotics with out re-zeroing for a different bullet.

I shoot 150 Gr Core-locts from Remington out of mine...out past about 200 yards they tend to tumble as opposed to fly straight. I am going to try a heavier round myself. they smoke everything 200 and under though!!

Shot 2 whitetail @ less than 200yds w/ 150gr Corelokts. One zipped straight through, and the other was like a grenade. Both ran 75yds. Weird. Out of my 30-06, they have been lightning bolts.

That's the strangest thing I've heard. If a 150 grain is tumbling, going to a heavier (i.e. longer) bullet will only make it worse. What rifle and barrel twist do you have? A 150 grain is fairly light for a 300WM, and since you push it at magnum speeds, this should help stabilize it more. The Core Loks are a flat base bullet, which help decrease the length of the bullet. The shorter the bullet, the less twist required to stabilize it. So a 150 grain flat base should be easy for a 300WM. Somethings not right.
