I went out last night intending to take a small hog for the smoker and ended up getting this 200 pounder. So what's the twist you ask.. Well...... I know many of you on here have had close encounter with hogs, but I never have.. Until last night. I shot this hog at 13 yards quartering away behind the shoulder, complete pass through! The hog ran about 50 yrds and laid down.. I watched him about 15 minutes and figured he was done!! I started walking over to him, and he wasn't laying on his side but with his feet under him.. I thought that was a little odd so at about 35 yrds I threw a rock at him.. That's when he exploded up whirled around and was about to give me an education. I had a Glock 10mm as my side arm, I had just bought this pistol and hadn't even shot it. I took aim at his head at about 35 yrds or so squeezed the trigger and his stiffened up slowly fell over. Talk about a pure luck shot I hit that joker almost square between the eyes with a 180 buffalo bore round.. Taught me one heck of a lesson.. Next time, give'em a little more time..

Looks like that 10mm caused a nose bleed! Neat story! Good eating too...

Cool Story, and by the looks of those choppers, you're right....he'd have taught you a thing or two.

Hold your gun straight, and turn your cell phone sideways... when shooting video.

Sounds like a thrilling hunt. I want to use you for a reference next time the naysayers tell me hogs don't charge!

Anyone who would say that has never been in the same woods with a hog...from that point on I would not pay attention to anything they said.

I have heard stories and seen it to be true where, after shooting a hog they will go back in the woods only for you to folliw the blood trail and for them to circle around and wait for you on that blood trail. They can be smart piggy's.
