Probably a good gun if you needed to do a drive by... or off someone.. then you wouldn't feel bad tossing it in the river. Other than that im out.. poor quality materials. I think in the world of cheap guns keltec is where I set the bar and wouldn't go any lower.. just my opinion.

ive owned plenty never had an issue with a single one. there ugly there heavy there made from cheap material. But dont load em with +p ammo and they make a fine plinker or range toy. I have seen a 40 blow up it was loaded with buffalo bore +p+ ammo 2 good shots then kaboom. fmj is all I run in mine and they shoot good.
Now the carbines are in my book a damn fine gun, I have one in 9 and 45 and will never get rid of em.

The carbines are the only firearm they make that I would own.

I owned a 9MM for about a month got rid of it. Just too ugly and heavy for me. Plus for a few more bucks you can find a ruger P series that are way better built for around the same money.

I have a 9mm and it's been reliable for me despite being a cheap gun.

You just have to realize what you are buying... a $175 gun.
I have one in 9mm and it works great for what I use it for. Which is a lease/truck/range gun.
I have put a bunch of rounds through it and have had no issues with it.

Interesting comments. People who actually own them have experienced no problems. Personally I own a 9mm carbine, got it for fun gun, keep it around the barn & carry it on tractor when weather is bad. Fellow I bought it from said he had only shot it about 5000 times, I have shot it about 700, Never a FTF. Must be a POS since it is plastic and made in America. Maybe if I cleaned it or washed the dirt out of it then it would start jamming like my RRA.

The carbines are decent, not the pistols though, in my opinion.

I have found plenty of them over the years, usually left at crime scenes +1, one we found in a stock tank in a cow pasture led to a murder confession. It was stovepiped by the way.

I like my .45. I have put about 200 rds through it or so. I have had one ftf that i attribute to weak wrist after going through about 40 in a row, it was the last one. Other than tat I know why I paid $130 nib for it. To throw in the truck, shoot at chit on the lease and if I drop it not worry that I marred a $600 gun. I have put about 40 +p down the pipe but all the rest have been fmj. I would recommend trying one before making an opinion on the weapon.
They also have a nice warranty and a no questions asked policy for LIFE.

i had a 45, the only thing i thought was cool about it was when you hold it up and looked at it from the side in dim light, it looks kinda like you are watching the movie Alien. Other than that, it sucked. BUT... i dont care if you buy it new, or if your the 19th owner... it has a lifetime guarantee and hi point will honor it. my opinion is... safe your money.

I have one of the 9mm carbines mounted with a red dot scope. It shoots great and I can put the shots inside 3-4" at 50 yards. Not bad with no magnification and with the cheapest steel case 9mm ammo I could find. Never any problems with feeding or ejecting shells.

[quote=SATX]I dont own one, or plan on owning one, or work for Hi-Point.
But for all the guys that say the Hi-Points are cr@p, I would like to see alot of other gun makers put their pistols through tests like this.
May be cheap materials, but the pistols they used seem to hold up pretty well to some incredible abuse.
They did a 3 Part torture test that was pretty funny. Here are one of the tests and a follow up video.
Always remember for a lot of folks on this board it is about ego, appearance, and being part of the latest fad. A urban commando wannabe has got to keep up his/her appearance. I do not own one, probably won't unless is serves my purpose....but a buddy of mine carries one around the ranch on tractors, in trucks etc...and he even shoots it with no problem.
Work hard, play hard, love without reserve....you can rest in heaven when the journey is over.
