Would you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Training wellbred Shorthairs and Labradors is a confidence builder....Pointers, on the otherhand, are a reality check.

I would agree with this more so than the original statement. Dogs are dogs and they are all different. I think it has less to do with the breed and more to do with their individual personality.

This has not been my experience with pointers and shorthairs, especially if you keep in mind that you can't train range. The pointers I've been around are much more naturally careful around birds than the shorthairs I've been around.

A lot really does depend on the dog, but most pointers seem to also back better.
