I just got back from my annual father/son hunt with my dad and another duo from Florida. We first hunted in Hall County last week and then moved to the mountains outside of Raton, NM to try for a Merriams this past weekend. Well, I've never hunted turkeys in the hail, and I've certainly never hunted turkeys in the snow. Can now cross both of those off my bucket list. And that was between the wind blowing upwards of 40 mph for the majority of the hunt. The other father/son team managed to kill 3 birds in Hall County between the hail storms, but the Raton weather had the birds shut down completely. Hunted the same weekend last year and had a great hunt- 2 birds in 1 day. You win some, you lose some. Brutal trip.

Ouch Conor, It seemed like the wind would never stop last weekend, but obviously have nothing to complain about...
May try to go this Saturday if you are interested...
