I'm about to buy a Lohman CD Caller, it's used, and I can't find much info on the net. Just wanted some feedback, pro's and con's, from someone, who uses or has used one. Thanks!

I have one and my friend has one and they both have the exact same problems. First, the lid on the cd player will not stay closed. I have to use duct tape on it. Second, when ever you shoot, the cd skips on my friends and starts over which isn't that big of a deal. On mine, it stops the cd when you shoot and says "err" and that sucks. They do have great sound. I wouldn't spend much on it. There must be a reason that they quit making them!!!

Do you think $70 for a used one is too high?

I guess it depends on how used it is. I saw some on clearance at Sportsman's Warehouse in Lewisville for $85 new a month or so ago. I think they sold for $200 or $300 when they were "new" a few years ago before the age of digital callers . The one you are looking at may be fine.

Its a cd player with an amp and a megaphone. Unless you have the crap, 70 is fair.

I have one of them and the only problems I have had with mine is that #1 it cost a fortune to put batteries in it cuz it takes like 6 d's! and also the volume nob is messed up and will just spin round and round and doesnt click anymore... but the sound quality is very good!

Yeah, if it's in good shape $70 is a fair price. Who knows, we may have gotten lucky and are the owners of the only two with those problems. Mine takes 8 D batteries.

I think $70 is quite fair. I source cheap megaphones and I buy a separate cd player and if you combine both, the price would be way higher. So I believe 70 is okay. Plus, you would only be dealing with a single piece of device, so it's cheap and convenient.
