One of the ranches I've cull shot..The Silverado in Fowlerton has
all all metal blinds mfg by Top of the Table..Bob Zins....who at
the time was also one of the owners of the ranch..they are great
except for the aluminum windows and the drip rail ridge at the
bottom...Having steps w/handrails also is a plus...I'd use red lead type undercoat, and then paint it w/a good camo paint..I bet
it was more work than you thought..remember to anchor it well..DD

A little progress, I got some galvanized sheet angle from txcntryboy and started tacking it to the corners just to clean them up.

Also started on the tower

I guess you could always use it as a bank vault if you ever gave up hunting.

Hope you have a tractor to get it set out.

Include a cost sheet?

Cost for all materials would have probably been close to $1200 or more, but I get my steel tubing and sheet on the cheap.

Tacked up the stairs

Got them all welded up...these suckers are heavy

Any input on whether I should do some X bracing on the legs? It is pretty damn sturdy as it sits, but I'm thinking I ought to throw some on there just in case.

Using metal sides, when the rifle goes off it will ring like a huge bell. Deafening!! I had an all metal blind and while cool as h3ll it has its draw backs.

Stand is all done and headed to its home tomorrow morning. I added expanded metal to the steps for traction.

With it being so windy today, I didn't want to spray paint half the neighborhood. So instead, I got my woman and took it to the elementary school parking lot to paint and be far away from any vehicles or houses...

We only got this far before the liaison officer suggested we move along...

Perfect, should help a lot.

Are using the folding windows or sliding.

If sliding you might give yourself 1/8"long and high for metal expansion...mine are not fun when its cold

Going with the sliding windows, they have a little bit of room to play with, IIRC about 1/4" total.

You should be perfect then... Now just got to mount the solar panel to the top to keep the spot light and electric heater battery charged smile

Looks awesome there is a paint called rig guard that's made for metal...high lead count I image, but lasts forever
