if im correct, its been a good while back but i saw a program on tv about someone relocating baboons(some monkey from Africa) to south tx or some where down that way

It is illegal to ship any non human primate (monkeys and apes)into the United States except for medical purposes. We have a Java Macaque, in East Texas. Java's are real close relatives to the Snow Macaque's. Here is a pic of my little buddy.

There really are snow monkeys in south texas. My brother saw one on our old lease 4 years ago. We made serious fun of him because it was during a wind storm and we figured it was just a javelina or something. We talked to the rancher later and he confirmed it. The place in Dilley had some but I think what happed was the fence got knocked down by a storm/flood and they escaped. They say they are worse than coyotes and they pack up.

I heard the same conversation that Guy heard.Nolan Ryan WAS serious! He claims to have enough around his place that they have become a problem. He said something like;it's war time on the Snow monkey's in south Texas.
Guess I'll have to call my old buddy Nolan and see if I can't come down and bow hunt a few of em...

Man, that could be a fun AR hunt. Might need to use shotguns though with the probability of shooting in the air.

Would be fun either way.

There are snow monkeys around the Dilley area. I have been on the ranch next to Ryan's and we did see one of them that was running away. I asked my friend about it and he told me and I laughed. He then drove me around and showed me damages that were done by these pests. They were worse on a feeder than any coon or hog. They had to weld large varmit cages and had to put locks on them. The also damaged the solar units on the fences so they were changing to all bump gates when I was there. I think is is a case of SSS when they do see them.

I can see it now, I'm setting in the back of a truck at 2 am blowing my calls when...bamn out of no where I'm jumped by a pack of crazed monkeys. One grabs my mouth calls the other my gun and last but not least three grab the cooler and head for the hills, I mean brush. Then I get up off the ground, brush of the dust from my a%% whooping, Check my pockets for my keys, only to hear my truck being put into gear.....

Fellow P1 here as well and I heard the conversation. The Fake Nolan Ryan bit came about from the first time the REAL Nolan Ryan started talking about Snow monkeys. You know how the ticket takes something and runs with it for years. I mean the "Guess what I have in my underpants" drop has been played at least once a day for the last year it seams.

A little off the topic, but there's a guy that posts on the GoGo Varmint Go site that lives in Barbados. He goes by Monkeyman and hunts green monkeys for the bounties. Occasionally catches young ones to sell as pets.

This guy gets a lot of the toys that we would love without all the red tape, namely supressors.

So is a hunt forming or WHAT? I'd LOVE to see if one of those critters would come to a Foxpro! Probably any distress sound would work to get some curiousity going. I think Bayourat or Tacosmell probably has the sound of a monkey being spanked! LOL... That might bring the little swingers in..
