I agree with you WildEd. My first 22 was a Remington 512 beehive bolt. The first firearm I bought with my own money was a Wingmaster 12 Ga. I still own and use both. Wasn't trying to sound like a pureist, but there are good deals on precision AR15s if you look arround a little. Geissele,Timney,Chip Mcormick,Jewel,JP,White Oak triggers and a Wilson,Douglas,Shilen,PacNor,Lothar Walther barrels only cost a touch more than the cheap stuff and are noticeably superior. I haven't even mentioned the real expensive stuff. Anyway, better stock up on AR parts as OBAMA appears to be heading for the Presidency Covey16

I am right there with you. I just wonder how long we last if that happens.

Went to the ranch this weekend and shot it, and was pleasantly suprised. I did not have time to try out different types of ammo, but with 50 gr. Black Hills VMAX I got 1/2" three shot groups. Doesn't get much better than that. The trigger was better than what I expected, and it handled well. The first critter I killed with it was a bobcat on Saturday night. So far I am very pleased with my purchase.

I'm very glad your AR15 worked out. One more thing to consider. VMAX bullets are designed to blow up on prairie dogs. They are very accurate but don't penetrate well. The best factory relatively cheap .223 bullet that will reliably penetrate a hog, deer etc is a Winchester 64 Power Point. If you are a reloader or have deep pockets Trophy Bonded Bear Claws, Nosler Partitions and Barnes bullets are much better choices.
Good luck

Gander Mt. in Lubbock has the .223 for 1099...said it would be till april before they got in the .204. He also said that they only made 325 of them and that Gander Mtn, got 300 of those.

Maybe that explains why I got NONE! I'll ask the rep about that, but I am beginning to think he don't know squat...
