This seems to be happening more and more with the bobwhite quail decline. My heart goes out to Ron, but he should cut his losses and just find a good home for the pointers.

Dang Rick, I hate to hear this, I hope he can find them homes. I wish I had room for one but I already have too many dogs.

I don't think I could part with a 10 year old dog, of any breed.

If anyone is interested in one of these dogs, I live near rkslve, so I can bring the dog (or dogs) to the Mesquite area during the week & you can pick it up at my work.

I'm not sure, but I think I got my Pointer from him. Wish him luck in finding homes.

My best wishes to Ron...we've had several of the guys at Bandera
Gun Club who own and maintain pointing dogs and have gotten older
and in poor health and had to give up their dogs in the last several yrs...I got the old/and somewhat declining health down, but still have a younger wife and 3 big sons at home so maybe I
get a pass...Wish Ron the Best from an old Scotch/Irishman..from
East Texas...Don

That's why I'm making Cracker my last dog. I don't want to outlive my dogs. I don't want to hang up my whistle, while one is still able to hunt. I should be 82 when Cracker is done. I don't know of many people whor are still able or willing to hunt at that age.
