Nice deer can be found in Jack County. But the hunting aint easy. I usually get a few nice bucks on camera....at night mostly. I passed up lots of young bucks with some potential this year. Shot a decent 18" 8 point.

Good hunting but like DeeCee said,It's not easy. Lots of Post oak, blackjack, greenbriar, etc. I have a friend who hunts there. He's a THF member, goes by C.U. outdoors, maybe he will chime in.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Depends on what part of the county you are in. Some areas are better than others. There are 150" deer pretty regular in some parts of the county then in others you might not ever see one over 130". I know the county very well. If you want pm me where you are and I can tell you what you might can expect.

I work on the border of Jack and Wise County. I've seen deer, hogs, and turkey, just not lately. Usually see a bunch of deer and hogs. Only seen Turkey a few times.
My dad is on a lease in Jack county and we saw plenty of deer, hog and turkey out there too.
Other guys up at work live in Jack County and I've never heard a complaint.
Alot of action has died down though.

I have hunted Jack County for around 30 years. I am north of Jacksboro and that area has pretty good numbers and some nice deer. Last year was great, the year before not good. Like Erath Kid said, with all the different Oaks in that area it can be feast or famine. Like alot of the whole northern part of Texas with all of this timely rain, the deer are Not moving few pics at night is all I am seeing. I think you will enjoy that neck of the woods. Welcome, good luck and congratulations! If you need any info on where to go for what ever PM me and I will be happy to share!

We have a little supermarket up there in Jacksboro called Diamonds. Had a big buck contest this past year and plan on having another this fall. Had nearly 600 sign up company wide and the youth winner came from Jacksboro. His buck score in the 150's.
Make sure to check us out, we're a block south of the square by the post office.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!
