I bought a 9mm GI Rock Island 1911 a while back as a base for a build. I went with the GI because it doesn't have foward serrations and already has the trigger I had planned on using. Been thinking about an ALL black 1911 and decided I'd do it with a 9mm since I didn't have one yet. A buddy of mine done all the work. Jason Heinkel (owner) of Jason's Gunworks. I was pleased with how it turned out and thought I would share it with THF. Before: After:

Shoots great.
Reliable and accurate. EGW barrel bushing helped. Honestly, it was pretty accurate to start with for a $350 brand new gun.
You're right, looks don't mean squat if it won't shoot.

Cool grips. Are they rough on the hands after a day at the range?

Thanks guys.
Chris, my wallet hates me too!
As far as the grips they aren't too bad. They are real good in the summer when your hands are sweaty.
