I do not have any facts and all the hunting sites I visit seem to be mute but as of 2-24-12 all about exotics stopped posting updates on the three. Last post: The latest: Oryx - 115; Addax - 37; Dama Gazelle - 10.

So my question would be was this a true eradication of the three species due to the ruling/permit requirement or was this a fire sale that soon fizzled out from a scare. I have not seen any postings in the Guides/Outfitters section since the rule change here about new offerings so was this just a sky is falling scenario or was there any truth to the federal enforcement that required the panic sale. I know some have posted they were enduring the permit process and it was no big deal. Others stuck to their guns and never backed off their pricing. I have even heard of some charging more due to the scare.

No one has stepped up to relate the facts about the whole scenario and I have to say I’m starting to smell a skunk. Can anyone provide the info the Feds and those in the permit process are not relaying to the rest. It just seems like the whole process has become a closed subject due to the upcoming election if you get my drift.

Inquiring minds would like to know.

It's easy information for you to find. Read the articles. Watch the 60 minutes video. Get informed.

Thanks, and I was informed there are no cliques here on THF although I knew better since I was a member before the change, did not update the email notice since I never posted but have been reading since 2005.

Thanks but I have researched as much as I can and have already seen the 60 minutes segment the night it aired.

I still would like to know have the three been eradicated, those that did the permit process how did it work and what are the results and if any are left what will be the outcome. I guess no one wants to answer the questions I posed because we all should know the internet is being watched with forced removal of info and scrubbed of any info that reflects negativity of the current administration. So feel free to PM me with info if you do not care to share on the open forum. It sounds like to me the new permit system is a setup for further litigation. According to the Lacy Act of 1900 and last updated 1988:

The Act prohibits trade in wildlife, fish, and plants that have been illegally taken, possessed, transported or sold. It was also concerned with the potential problems of the introduction of non-native, or exotic species of birds and animals into native ecosystems.

In 1988, the role of guiding or outfitting services was added to cover a new threat to big game species under the ambit of "sale." Prior to the amendment, big game guides who provided illegal hunts were immune to prosecution for violation based on commercial activity.

Today the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's new list of injurious wildlife goes into effect. Who defines the status of non native species as injurious and where does the rest of non native species begin to fall into this scenario.
Looks like to me any non native species could become subject to these outdated laws by interpretation alone based on property damage, competition to indigenous species and native habitat or in other words an out right control over private ownership. Yes I know this link is related to snakes but it could apply to all non native species.

So am I still trolling?
