Howa is my favorite brand of rifle by far. Howa is decently priced and super accurate, then the Hogue/BLACKHAWK! stock is great 70% recoil reduction is great. They are just overall good rifles. Explain here your favorite rifle maker.

its a toss up between a ruger M77 mkII and a model 70 winchester.
Shot my first deer with a model 70, then got a ruger MkII and shot a ton with that. just picked up my own model 70 a few months back(our ranch rifle is a model 70 but its not "mine".
If I had to name a dream rifle though, it would be a Weatherby Mark V deluxe .
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Pre-64 Winchesters-Very accurate and just can't duplicate the feel of one.
Modern-Sako because I've had the same one for over 30 years and she has never let me down.
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

The CRF Model 70s---pre-64 and the newer Classics---offer the best combination of features, IMO.

Howa's are nice and so are the new savages, but I like the old Remi's the new ones are garbage.

I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan

Sako's are nice. I love my TRG 42. My favorite is my Surgeon! It's a hammer. IMO, the best factory rifles are the Tikka's. I haven't met a Tikka that wouldn't shoot.
