Didn't think he was accepting work?? You are correct Sir. While I am still catching up, I'm far enough along now that if I have a cancellation (i,e,.death, divorce, layoff, etc.)I will take a bird in here and there from a THF member. - Matt

Alright guys I shot the best lookin pintail last season and I'm going to take it to bird works sometime next week(s) but need some ideas how to make it look should I get it standing, flying or what any help would be great guys A good way to go about this is to answer a few questions when deciding on a pose for your respective taxidermist: 1. Do you want it to go on the Wall or Table? 2. What is the condition of the wings? 3. Relaxed or Action? This generally will help point you in the right direction. Beyond that do what everyone does and go to Birdmandstudios website and look at all the pics!:)

I love sleeping or sleepy (loafing) ...unfortunately not many pick it.

He knows how to do these!
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

I love sleeping or sleepy (loafing) ...unfortunately not many pick it. Yes there are only a few poses that you can pic. I like the sleeping pose because it shows all the colors of the bird.

I haven't seen it but wouldn't a sleeping pose with the ducks head nestled between its wings cover up the bill of a pintail too much? I've seen them on the water sleeping and IMO for a mount it would. I shoot a sprig this year that I am getting mounted and that's the reason why I didn't get that pose. Like I said though... I haven't seen a mounted pinatil sleeping so I don't know... I'm getting mine done scratching its head standing on one foot. I do like the dead strap though. Its nice.

That's a dang nice walnut base on that one J.J.! Here's my take on a "stander" with scap feathers displayed.

I haven't seen it but wouldn't a sleeping pose with the ducks head nestled between its wings cover up the bill of a pintail too much? Yes, it would, so generally the bill would rest on the breast of the bird (generally pointing forward) with the lower eyelid slighty closed.

Kewl, I think I'm gonna plant some purple cabbage this year too. Whoops, forgot what the original post was about for a second...here's a shop shot of a jumper.

Yes, it would, so generally the bill would rest on the breast of the bird (generally pointing forward) with the lower eyelid slighty closed. I honestly didn't think about having it like that. I guess thats why I don't mount my own animals... no imagination. lol
