I don't care if it is hunting or not....that is a pretty bad percentage there.

Ease up. I am sure the midget is in tears right now. He realisitcally thought he was going to shoot a HUGE Axis buck, 2 axis does and unlimited black buck does.

Empty handed here, your info is correct. Did see alot of animals, just not where I wanted to see them. Adam won another hunt out there in March.

Sounds a little tougher than when we were there in June!

It was tough. I had a 15 yard shot at a axis calf on Friday morning. Was in front of me for 15 or 20 minutes. I was kicking myself this morning for not taking the shot but I still would have felt guilty for shooting a calf. I saw 9 black buck and 13 axis while hunting. Only two in shooting range. One never gave me a good shooting angle and the other was too young. I thought it went well for the heat and other "hunters" driving the roads during prime shooting hours.
The cool thing was apparently they had over-booked Lisa's house and they brought in a travel trailer to accommodate us. Hats off to them for the service.
As far as the hunting goes I will go back. I saw a huge axis bull and there were whitetails out the kazoo. If you are going for the October hunt try the Tyler section. I will be going back for another try in March Lord willing. Lots of game and lots of nice folks.
BTW if you think that percentage is low look at the average for archery elk seasons, it's about the same. I would have liked it to be higher but with the heat and activity level I can see it.
Next time there will be blood!

They bought a piece last year that is high fenced that consist of 9,000 acres. The rest of the 22,000 acres is low fenced, we saw a bunch of animals pretty much everywhere we went just wasn't in the rite spot at the rite time.

Doesn't sound like it was to bad of a trip. Three days hunting beats the heck of one day at work and two days of honey do's. To everyone that got animals congrats.

I'm new on the forum here and met a few of the guys at Baker Ranch last weekend. It was a great hunt. I saw lots of game. Axis, Corsican Sheep (1.5 Curl, Nice!), Mufalon, Whitetail, Turkey. I also shot a Black Buck Doe. I'll be back in March!! Good meeting all of you at the Ranch.

The hunt was great. I had a blast. The folks that didn't see game, just weren't at the right place at the right time. I saw game all day every day. I passed on both axis does and blackbuck does well within bow range. Had a couple of opportunities at Axis bucks and even shot one. I am going back at least once next year of not twice.

Even the part that is high fence has had sections taken down to allow the animals to cross over. It is a fair chase situation. I'm going back in March. Nice ranch, decent accommodations especially for the price, good people and a fair chance at killing an animal. I think it was a good time.

good to see you one here JR. i made a video of JRs hunt/kill and just took it to his house.

good time out there. tons of animals. i have never seen that many exotics and whitetail on any ranch, much less a low fence place. i couldnt chase the whitetail off. they were there from the time i sat down to the time i left. a couple people said they were eating the corn as they were puttin it out.

i had a HUGE axis buck at 30 yds. we saw each other at the exact same time. we both took about 1 second to decide what we were gonna do and he bolted. calls told me i had a huge one right behind me too, but i never saw him out the back of the popup.

i will definitely be goin back. the price is unbeatable, nice place, and good people.

All in all it was a good hunt. I got to spend time with the wife and some friends in the field. I also met some new friends that I am sure I will see at the Baker next year if not sooner and to top it all off I brought home an Axis doe MMMMMMMMMM backstrap. I had lots of game around me every hunt and I will be back next year.

Calls, Unfortunately, "Close" only counts in Horseshoes and hand grenades.

Glad I got a chance to hunt with you and Cody.
