There are a few million of them floating around but they are exceptionally accurate with very little recoil. One of my favorite MILSURP rifles. Values vary. Mine is a 1906 with all matching numbers in excellent shape and I paid $250 for it. Have seen them listed for as much as $450.

Since it was passed on by your Dad, value isn't that important probably. Guys don't usually sell those guns. What's important is that it is a joy to shoot. Using Hornady ammo, mine will shoot 1" groups at 100 yards all day long. I did have to buy a taller front sight because the rear sight is set to be on at 300 meters at its lowest setting. A blank Mauser sight doesn't cost much. Just put it in, set your rear sight up 1 notch, and gradually file the front sight down till its hitting where you want it. I set the rear sight up a notch just in case I need to lower it for different ammo.

You can always put the original front sight back in if you want to.

no plans on selling it just wanted to get some input from people who have shot them...Ill look for some ammo and hit the range with it..Gonna take to gunsmith first and make sure everything is good to go first...

Here you go:

History: http://www.chuckhawks.com/swedish_mauser.htm

Useful info: http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu95_4.htm

They are great rifles. Superb craftsmanship, mild recoil, and VERY accurate.
