I have had both and still have the model 60. Only one reason I kept the model 60. Loading...the Ruger mag will wear out your thumbs unless you have a mag loader.

My brother has a marlin, I have a 10/22. I like that his was cheaper and has a tube magazine. However my brother has alot of trouble with his getting dirty and it jams up alot, and will get to where it will not even feed rounds pretty quickly, within 2-300 rounds. The 10/22 I think shoots a little better and I have poored thousands of rounds through it without cleaning it and it didnt have jaming issues.
I think you will be happy either way though.
matt Quick fix for that is brake cleaner. OT I have both but prefer the model 60.
