Bought 2 brand new moultrie L50 game cams back in november, they worked great for about a week then started taking black pictures every other shot, and sometimes I will get a series of black pictures? I have tried batteries, new sd cards, changing it from multi shot to single shot?? Called moultrie and they are under warranty, but they are telling me it is more than likley my sd card is bad?? I have 6 sd cards that I change out and all of the are moultrie brand cards, now how in the crap did 6 sd cards go bad?? Just curious if any one else is having this problem or has found a fix? They want me to change batteries and go buy a different brand card and try that and call them back with the results?

I have three of the moultrie M-80 cameras and they are working great some models are better than others. how long have you had them? regardless of the model customer service is hit or miss. I have had them send me new cameras no questions asked and I've had them argue with me for weeks wanting to charge me within the warranty for "repair". especially from mid-summer through fall in the busy season there might be 30-40 callers on hold and they won't be willing to warranty as much.

I have a Moultrie I-40 that I bought two years ago. Two different buddies also bought these cameras at same time and both of them had the display screen go out on them. Mine made it two seasons before my display went out. Called Moultrie and they told me that this was very common. In fact, they changed manufacturers for the display screen because of all the problems they were having. Then they proceeded to tell me that my camera was out of warranty and it would be $90 to send it back and have it fixed. I about lost it with them. For $90 I can just buy a new camera! I won't buy another Moultrie product.

You are right it could be because of the model.

Only problem I had with a Moultrie product was an old m-60. I think it got stepped on by a cow and I sent it to them and had a $10 shipping charge and they sent a brand new cam. Must be some new customer service people.

I have a pile of them. Mostly moultrie but also stealth cams. Oddly my first I-40 still works but rapid fire after 5 years.

I've had 2-3 Moultries, Gamespy D-50s. Worked great for one to two years, then they started to lose the screen LCDs and started taking black pictures like you've described. The board has been fried. Apparently, the sun has this effect on them.

My I40 lasted three years before the screen went out. Its sitting in the garage. I bought a newer moultrie, the tan colored one that is designed like tree bark. Its been great for two years, so I have my fingers crossed. I have tried other brands and have not found any better ones and definitely haven't found better pic quality or reliability. Won't try cuddeback because they are pricey and a buddy had buck luck with a brand new one he bought. It seems to me everyone seem to have problems with most brands, good luck

I have alot of moultries and never had a problem with the customer service. Only camera I have had from them that is a POS is the IR-D55 or something like that. They have "fixed" it and sent it back 3 times. They finally gave me back my money.
I bought two of the M80's this year and they are working pretty good so far, but one year isn't much.
All cameras are hit and miss. I have never found a camera that doesn't have both good and bad reviews.

Sell them on eBay and buy the Bushnell Trophy Cams. I have 4 Trophy Cams and 6 Moultries. As the Moultries die they will be replaced with the Trophy cams.

The wife bought me one for Christmas and will only stay on for about 1-2 hours then shuts off. I've tried changing the batteries and sd card. nothing works. So odd. You can turn on.. will take pics for an hour or two, then off she goes. When you turn back on, the display shows full battery..Very frustrating to go the lease for pics and realize the cam didnt last more than an hour. Now i have a couple of the M80's. Last shot for Moultrie!

The black pictures are simply pictures of black panthers that are walking too close to the camera.

I've had similar problems with moultrie game cameras. I went to Bushnell Trphy cams as well and never had a problem. I hade two moultrie feeders that I bought a year apart. Both failed within a month of each other. No more moultrie for me.

This past year was the first for me with digital game cams. I used cams before back when they were regular film. I got into it in a BIG way - have 10 cams now and I put them up everywhere, from the lease to security at my coast house. My experience has been varied. I have Moultrie, Bushnell, and WGI. I have come to the conclusion that there each and every camera is different, regardless of model/manufactorer. Within the same model/manufactor, I have some that work great and have had zero issues. Others that never did work right. And some that were cr-p, then suddenly started working great. Others that worked great then suddenly starting having issues. Some work better in winter, and have real problems in our 110 deg heat this past summer. Others that worked fine in the summer and take miss pictures when it got cooler. It just seems to be hit and miss. One interesting thing about running a lot of cams that I discovered. I put two on one feeder on opposite side. VERY often one cam would catch an animal and the other wouldn't take a single picture during the same time period. If I was using just one cam, I would have never seen the deer! I have cams at the feeders, at the stand, and spread out over travel areas. Having a lot of cams has really shown me how the animals approach and move through the area. Also shows who is coming to my stand when I am not there. I'll move the cams around from time to time. You'd be surprised (or maybe not) to find that some of the biggest deer may approach and hang around your area, but never actually come to your feeder. I love cams now. To me, it's hunting without pulling the trigger. I get a lot of enjoyment of running the cams and seeing and getting to know what critters live around the lease. I get excited and a rush traveling to the lease just to pull the cards and see what I can see. And still with all the cams, I've had animals show up while sitting that I NEVER saw before or since on cam.

I have about 9 moultrie cameras sitting in the garage. There junk. All the screens go out. And u can't see what they say, some read the ad card some don't Went with the bush ell 2 years ago. Takes 8 lithium batteries. The first set lasted 18 months. Over 10k pics Accidentally. Set the other one on video. It took 3500 10 sec videos before the batteries died. Just my opinion of course. But. My moultries were always dead or had an issue. I paid a little more forte bushnells but we have 5 set up now and all we do is drive. By and swap the cards. They have been a great product first hand usage Moultrie pretty much said since they were out of the warranty. There was not much they can do except fix them and return. I asked how much per unit. They said depends on the problem. Pretty much telling me to go buy 8 more. They har lost all my business with anything affiliated with their name

I just bought a moultree cam and it takes a pic every 10 minutes. I can't figure out why. Very frusrtating when you have to go through over 600 pics for a cam that's been sitting out for one month.
