Yep....sometimes you don't even need the camo! Once I had finish filling feeders in the afternoon on Labor Day, I grabbed a camp stool and my calls..... sat down under a live oak tree.... started calling. By the time I had finished in 30 minutes... there were 3 yotes on the ground... one within 15ft. of me! I had two more hung up across a draw behind some cedars, but they never would show!

No camo, no scent cover.... wind was in my favor!

The best answer I've heard on this is: "Cover scent doesn't work. You can use skunk cover scent and to a coyote you smell like a human that got too close to a skunk!"
You can't beat a coyotes nose. You just have to try to stack everything else in your favor, wind, camo, shade.

Fox pee, they love to eat foxes and foxes love the smell of it. You can trap foxes with nothing more than fox urine. I'll always take the sun over the wind anyway. Always put the sun to your back if you have a choice.

Yep I agree, Wind in your favor, Full Camo, especially the hands and face, and Sun at your back if at all possible (and in order or importance IMHO).

This past Nov, I had a Yote come up to less than 4 feet of me.
I was up on five round hay bales (stacked pyramid style), full camo, and WIND in my favor. I looked over my shoulder and saw him working its way towards me. I was standing against the top two bales, looking over them.

When he got close (50 yds), I never moved my head, just my eyes, (I felt like an owl with its head facing backwards)
he walked straight to me, faced his ears towards me, glanced up at me for 2 seconds,
then proceed around the bales. I couldn't see him anymore, but when he got downwind of me
he bolted, but only at half speed. He went about 150 yds then stopped to look back at (me) the hay bales.
I didn't nail him because I was Deer Hunting that morning in Nebraska.
He had my name written all over him.
I thought about pulling a Josey Whales and spit'm on his head

I gave up Hunt'n + Fish'n...It was the worst 15 Minutes of My Life!!
