Hey all. I am finally getting to go on my first turkey hunt! I am borrowing a friends 12 guage an older 1187. It will only take 2 3/4 shells. Which is the best brand and shot. I would appreciate any other advice you can give. Thanks a bunch, Troy

Thanx 4 trax, good idea. Would you start from 20 yds and work your way out? Also just found out my tax return may be enough to get a nice gun. What would you recomend, both in pump and auto loaders? Thanks again for your help. Troy

25-30 yards is a good place to start.Depends on you with the gun and what you want to spend, there are alot of good guns out there find one you like.As far as pump or auto....I'm not a big auto fan but did shoot a beneli auto this year that was bad arse.

Last year we patterned a few different guns with all the major brands and different chokes and everyone went with the Remington 4x6 Duplex. We all use the 3" because it had more pellets in the kill zone compared to the 3.5" shells we tried. Give the Remington's a try and I think you will like them.
