I am thinking there are some regulations that prevent someone from having them other than a zoo. If anyone would have them or know's if you could it would be Buddy Jordan in San Antonio. Might try contacting Exotic Wildlife Association to ask them what they know about them.

I'VE KNOWN BUDDY FOR 30YRS HE HAD THE PR I JUST MISSED!! NO REG ABOUT HAVING THEM JUST NOT MANY AROUND BASS BRO'S CONTROLLED THEM FOR YRS IS THE STORY I HEARD AND DID'NT LET ANY OUT THERE'S MORE AROUND EVERY YEAR!!!! BUT THEY ONLY HAVE 3 OFFSPRING A YEAR SO ITS SLOW!!

I don't think they are too common in these parts. It's probably due to their ability to just burrow under a high fence, but if you have a way to contain them then I say keep searching!

YEA THATS A PROBLEM THEY DO DIG!!I'M BUILDING A PEN A COUPLE ACRES WITH 5FT PANELS HOG RINGED TO THE BOTTOM AND BURIED!! I'VE ALSO HEARD IF THE PEN IS BIG ENOUGH YOU CAN START THEM A HOLE IN THE MIDDLE AND THEY WILL USE IT AND NOT DIG ANYWHERE ELSE!!! THERE REALLY COOL I REALLY WANT SOME!!!!

You better be glad that "Notamtchance" isn't on this thread. He don't like big letters. They had a warthog sell at the YO auction a couple of years ago. They wouldn't bring it into the ring, they showed it on the screens. I don't remember exactly what it brought but it was some pretty good money.
