16 Dove breasts deboned and de-shotted
1 can french onion soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 large onion
4 oz baby carrots
1 celery stick chopped up in to medium size pieces
4 new potatoes cut in fours
Some Tony Chachere's seasoning

Sprinkle some Tony Chachere's over all Dove breasts and place in your Crock Pot along with the above mentioned ingredients. Cook on low for 6 hours and serve on top of a bed of white steamed rice.

Oh I forgot to mention you might need to add just a little water if you need more liquid to cover all ingredients.

Another way to try dove, that CHC and I love:

Take boned dove (or squab) breasts, flatten a bit with a meat hammer or the bottom of a pan. In each breast, place either a slice of jalapeno pepper or mozzerella cheese or Krab Legg (the artificial crab meat).

Roll the breast in a i/2 slice of bacon. Secure with a toothpick. Either fry in hot oil or cook on the grill.

These don't last very long.

PS I will serve this at least once during the Javelina Hunt in West Texas this March...

I take and de-bone the breasts and put them into a large ziplock bag and pour in one full bottle of tabasco sauce and put it in the fridge over night. I then take fresh jalapenos and slice them in half and take out the seeds and veins. Then fill the cavity of the jap with Philly cream cheese and then put a breast around the jap and then overlap the whole thing with thick cut style peppered bacon and secure with toothpics. Grill medium rare on high heat on the grill and enjoy! This has become our traditional first dinner at whitetail camp.

Jason, thanks to you and Texas Corn Husker and his other half, I currently have 60 dove breasts in the freezer. (Not whole breasts, they are boned out). Hopefully I will have more, but since squab works as well, I will probably start butchering my squabs and use them, too. (don't like to have my birds raising babies in the wintertime).

I figure to have enough for appeteasers for 2 meals, at least.

...Do they make bigger clothes?...

I like hammering out a boned breast, coat with a little flour, salt, pepper, and chicken fry...mini steak fingers,then use the grease to make some gravy. Add a few biscuits and I'm set.
