Apparently I’ve pushed some hogs off one farm and onto a neighboring ranch. Naturally, the rancher expected me to take care of the problem. He came along, and what better time to witness the magic of night vision than that of the full moon. He guided me right to where the hogs were and the midnight rodeo began.

He chased them in the truck using the PVS14 to see. With my feet wedged under the glove box, I hung out the window holding on to the grab bar with my left hand and fanning the AR with my right. It’s pretty heavy with all the crap on it, so I had to tuck the stock under my arm and just “point and shoot”. Since he pulled right up alongside of them, I could eventually hit something even bouncing around if I dished out enough lead. Had I known we would use this tactic I would have brought the shotgun!

Several more were killed than shown here, but this guy was more interested in getting rid of them than gathering them up for a picture. I didn’t ask if I could publish his pic, so his identity will have to remain unknown.

That's a good guess, but that's just frost on the ground. I really enjoyed that hunt even if my ears did get a little chilly. If I'm going to stick my head out the window like that I might have to start super gluing my eyebrows down grin

Nice! At one point I believe you were keeping up with the total kills? Any idea on the number?

Good job! Your "ride" reminds me of the way we used to hunt coyotes on my Uncle's ranch up in the panhandle. He had about 20 sections and we'd drive around until we saw one then the chase was on...hanging out the window firing away. It'll sure make you pucker when you forget where the little creek ran through the draw. I have a few scars on my noggin from those days.

Good times!
