I got a lab pup (9 weeks) and am wanting to get her trained for duck hunting since ive never actually trained nor seen a gun dog trained i figured id see if i could find a trainer and try and learn some things myself. I live in frisco and was wondering if any one knew of any trainers in the area. Thanks for all feedback and help

Tim Marshall of Brushy Creek Retrievers is in Royse City. Give him a call and tell him Kevin sent you.

X2 Stay away from North Texas Hunting Retrievers, Tim Slattery is a bad dude.
Jager is like liquid xanax. Wake up looking like you fell in a tiger exhibit and crawled through a leech filled swamp to get out.

You should visit several of them and watch them train. Make an educated decision.
PM me if you want more info.

I'd tell ya Dan Kiety at marksalot or Angie Becker up at tioga great trainers and their records speak for them. I'd go to a hunt test and watch each, Dan and then Angie, run dogs all day, then make a decision on which you like. It would be well worth your time.

Rose Country is this weekend near Palestine. I'll be out there Sunday and can provide more insight, point out certain trainers to you, etc. PM me if interested.
