I like them both! So I can't choose one over the other since I have killed just as many deer during both times.

Both. All of my biggest bucks are pretty evenly split between AM and PM.

Morning for me. I enjoy drinking my coffee and the anticipation of seeing deer at first light is exciting to me.

Evening. Love south Texas sunsets
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Evening. Love south Texas sunsets x2. I love the anticipation of a big buck coming out at the last 5 minutes of light.

Why does it seem that 5 hours in the morning goes by faster than 4 hours on stand in the afternoon hunts. The morning hunts just seem to fly by.

Every buck that graces my wall was taken with 15 minutes or less of shooting light left. I usually see more deer in the AM, but have had better success killing mature bucks in the evening.

Just seems I have had better luck waking up early for ducks, and evening hunting for deer.

Evening, I'd rather be able to see the whole time until the sun sets, as opposed to having to wait in the blind for ~30 mins before it gets light.
Plus it tends not to be as cold in the evenings!

my better half and i both prefer the AM hunt: i get to sleep in and have the whole bed to myself AND he hates skinning/processing his kill at night...

he hates skinning/processing his kill at night... Me too!! That's the ONLY reason I prefer the morning hunts. I hate dressing/skinning after dark. I'd rather be eating some good grub and drinking a cold silver bullet!

Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.
Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
