Hi,

I am looking for a range finder. I have been looking at the Redfield Raider 550. I have messed with this a little and operation seems to be real easy. I did see one at Academy and wanted peoples opinions. It is the Wildgame Innovations A700X and this one will compensate for elevation.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Jake

I am partial to Leica. More pricey but they work great. Small reticule for ranging small game at farther distances is a big plus with them. Very durable and great customer service.

The Leica looks nice, just out of my price range. Thanks for the info!

I have also used a Leupold RX 750 TBR a time or two and liked it. I do not own one though.

I have the Leupold RX750 w/ TBR and it works great on non-relfective objects (like deer and other furry critters) to about 400 yards. They are 6x magnification. You should be able to find them on sale for about $250. Reg. price is about $280.

If I were to buy another pair I'd step up to the RX1000 though. These will allow a bit farther ranging and are 8x magnification. They are just a bit more expensive than the RX750.

I have a Nikon rangefinder that is good to 800 yards. I've been happy with it & it seems to give consistent readings.

Wildgame Innovations has been getting a bad rap on their game cameras. I'd do a bit of research before buying their products.

I have the Luepy RX-600. It works tolerably well, but won't typically pick up game past ~425 or so. If it were me I'd look for one good out to 750 yards or so.

Can't beat Leica in my opinion but they do cost $$$.

TSG is having an optics sale right now. Might be some deals for you there.

I have been testing an RX1000 this season
it is SO much better than the older RX II I owned before

Last year I tested the Bushnell 1500 ARC Binos, they worked extremely well but I just didn't like the binos themselves that much
