Does anyone have any pics of their rifle setup with the Er shaw varmint contour small shank barrels? Was thinking about purchasing a barrel from "260" to do a build on a savage. Just having problems finding pics, of the all the differences in barrel sizes. Such as varmint, heavy and bull.
Thanks in advance josh

Here's an example of Bartlein's contours. But honestly, each mfg may have their own sizes, but it will get you close. Call them and ask them for the specs. http://www.bartleinbarrels.com/contours.htm

I think the typical varmint is going to be .700" to a heavy .8" max at the Muzzle
Forum says "Veteran Tracker". I could not track a garbage truck into a fireworks factory.

Actually a savage varmint countour is .850 at the muzzle. If these are made to drop in, then they are probably the savage factory countours the shaw offers. If they are shaw countours then they won't accept the barrel nut, at least that's what the guy at er shaw told me.

Here's a pic of an er shaw varmint on a Savage 110. Love the gun, it's a tack driver....but the varmint contour is pretty heavy. Great for bench/blind hunting. It's not the greatest pic. I can get you a better one if you want. Let me know.

Thanks furdown! I guess I need to ask him if these are contour 3, 3 1/2, or varmint straight taper?
Nice setup up aggie!
I have two savage 110 with accutrigger, but not wanting to use them for a build. Any heads up on a 110 reciever? Or any ffl dealers that sales them?

Several of the guys at Bandera Gun Club have had E R Shaw rebbl their rifles..Jerry, one of the county deputys had them put a full bull bbl on a 308...they also squared his bolt faced and trued the action...all for less than $500 and the gun shot way under 1in groups at a 100..All the guys I've talked with like their work...you can call and talk with their gunsmith...I'm thinking of sending my Mark V 300 Wthrby and have it made into a 340 Wthby Mag...but just can't justify it yet due to my age and the fact that the 300 still shoots touching hole groups..DD

Awesome guys thanks for the info and pics. I placed my order, and plan on hitting the pawn shops for a 110 to start stripping down!
