I dare say you would not need to pull the motor...just yank the head and the pan...if you really want to get in there, pull and clean the pistons/connecting rods, etc. Less chance of something "sticking"

If youre going to pull the motor, go to the junk yard and find a running motor for 300. That's a lot of work to not swap the motor. We've rode on the same hydro locked motors for 50,000 or more. It's time consuming and there's nothing like suckin water out of cylinders with a straw from sonic

Junk yard motor might be a good option for your budget. Ill bet that cylinder water tasted nasty porky. We did the same to a jet ski once but just pulled the plugs and turned the motor over and let the compression do the work. Alot less sucking involved.

what part of town was this in?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

You might have been part of why it took me 2.5 hours to make my 20 mile drive into work this morning... or it could of been the overturned 18 wheeler i guess.

The worst water damage I had was about 20 years ago. Was at my wife's parents place...dating her at the time. Had the sunroof out on my Mustang GT...forgot about it overnight...during the night the sprinkler kicked in...came out the next morning to 5 inches of water sitting INSIDE my car...

NOT FUN...

I had an old tractor that got flooded. After the water went down, pulled it to high ground and flushed the engine and transmission three or four times with diesel. Lots cheaper then oil and works just as well. Ran fine for several years. In fact, it was running fine when someone "ran" it up on a trailer and stole it.

Don't forget to flush out the transmission.
