I have a lease out in west Texas and currently hunt out of a tripod. There aren't very many trees to place stands in and the amount of property we hunt doesn't allow for more than a couple of stands to be put up. I really enjoy hunting out of my tripod and feel like I get a better bow hunting experience and is what has caused me to almost go exuclusvily to bow hunting. I have a four year old son and this year he came out hunting with us alot more and I am not able to bow hunt the tripod with him. When he is with me I end up rifle hunting out of my box. I was thinking about this year going to only one stand and building a box blind that I can both bow/rifle hunt out of that way I can still have my son with me and am not limited to just rifle hunting.
I was curious on how many of you bow hunt out of a elevated box blind and do you still feel like your getting the full enjoyment of bow hunting? If you seem to then that's the way I'm going. If not I might still do the box blind but find another area to set up my tripod and the hunts he's not with me get out in the elements.
Just looking for thoughts, ideas or opinions.

it all depends on where I'm at, sometimes I don't use anything if I spot and stalk.

I have preferred tripods and ladder stands in the past. It seems more and more I find myself needing to hunt out of pop ups due to lack of cover or trees suitable for stands. Thus the need for a shorter bow, the Z7Extreme. Got my first deer out of the pop up the last weekend. I can see this becoming a trend.

I'll use a try pod or clim a tree to see where I want to go. But after that ill stock my pray. That's what bow hunting is about.

The double bull offers a nice pop-up with plenty of room for you and the kid and it is forgiven for noise issues. I ended up finding an old fiberglass water tank and cutting it in half for one of my blinds. As my little girl gets older, it will allow her to bow hunt with me and greatly reduces the noise that little girls can make
