Okay,
I'm going duck hunting this coming season. I started looking at shot guns.
This is what I have held and felt this far:
1. Benelli SBE II 2. Winchester SX3 3. Browning (dont't remember what it is)
Any thoughts or suggestions.
Help a man out!!!

All great choices. (Browning Maxis) Would be the Browning. Which ever feels the best in your hands and when you mount it.

The guys at BPS mentioned the camo coating because of the brackish water around the gulf coast. Any thoughts?

Can't go wrong with either. If I was in market it'd be maxus

I love my maxus, duracoat works great, lightweight, easy to clean and cheaper than sbe 2.

Camo guns have their own issues, like bug spray. Just take care of them and they'll all be fine.
I've shot the first and 3rd on your list and like the Maxus the best but that's because SBE's don't fit me at all. I have a Maxus for sale but only because I'm going with an O/U. Most people duck hunt with autos, though.

I shoot a SBE2 and I love it! There are all good guns however. Take your time and get what fits you the best.

All good choices for sure, all good shooters. I'm a Benelli fan, I like the inertia driven system vs a gas system. That's just me though.

I have a Maxus. Browning is also coming out with a inertia gun later this year.

I shoot a beneill vince. It's a really great gun for a cheap price. I've put my gun through hell and back. It's been dropped in the water 4 or 5 times, in the mud and sand, and it still shoots and cycle the shells every time. I don't clean my gun every time only when it needs it. But like the other commits, the gun does need to fit the shooter. Browning r great guns but just a lot of moving parts u have to sometimes worry about.

I personally am a Remington 870 kinda guy for down and dirty duck hunting, but it is nice shooting my dad's Benelli from time to time when I go places I don't put a lot of wear and tear on it.
As stated before, make sure the gun comes up on you well. Too long of a stock and you'll be shooting high, too short and you'll feel uncomfortable shouldering the gun. Some sporting clay places let you rent guns for a round of clays, I always recommend trying the guns out before purchasing, especially if you're putting down that type of money for a gun.

Pretty mad though that my beretta a400 only came with 3 chokes, what a ripp off
I had to spent another 120 dollars to buy extended ic and m chokes.
I still have the older xtrema2 which came with 5 chokes, but the ic choke got stuck in there even with the choke lube on it.
I go extended chokes from now on.

Still love my old (2000 model) super mag 870 which i totally converted into a metrogun. For one reason it doesnt pump loads heavier than 1 1/8 ounce, so bought 7/8 ounce loads winchester winlights and shoot crows, pigeons and doves and snipes with the extended metrobarrel.
80% recoil reduction and 70% noise reduction in combination with winlight winchester lownoise 950fps loads..
That metrogun is now my favorite gun and its almost like shooting a silencer

Regular Benelli Vinci black with 26" barrel. At online places like Bud's Gun Shop they cost around $1,000. IMO, this is one of the best shotgun values out there right now. The Super Vinci in black is about $400 more. The 26" barrel model feels so balanced and comes to your shoulder lightning fast. It's an amazing shotgun! I use mine for dove hunting too!

I have a SBEII and love it but if I got a new one I might go with the Super Vinci...I would need to put both in my hands to see. Garrett and SPTaylor also have SBEIIs and I think they are both saying they would go with a Maxus. I'm not sure a Maxus can stand up to the long term punishment the SBEIIs have been through.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!
