Is that a half ton pickup?

Did you take the "spoiler" off the bottom of the front bumper?

Be careful with that winch. It will work, but if you have some longer line pulls, it may be a little more than it can handle.

Also, how is that brush guard mounted to the truck? If you get really stuck, I could see you bending that guard pulling yourself out.

But it does look good.

Yes, be careful with that winch. 8000 lb is more for Jeeps and small trucks. You may have to use a snatch block most of the time.

I have a 12k on my F-250 and about to upgrade to a 15k to be safe.

Every truck I have owned, that plastic piece has been left somewhere out in the field!

The grill guard thing has lower and upper brackets that hook to the frame so its a little more sturdy than a regular grill guard. I looked up a dual battery kit but couldn't find much that wasnt really expensive.

i don't know much about it, but wouldn't it be cheaper to just go with a better battery... say a yellow top optima?

You will not need two batteries as long as you keep the truck running when winching.

Looks good.

I have the same winch on my screw cab.

And 8k is fine... Just use it correctly, use a snatch block, and remember if you are dealing with mud and you built a giant wall up in front of the frame.. Dig it out cheers cheers cheers

Did you get new shocks with your leveling kit?

It was strut spacers so I didn't need to change the shocks. I had a 2000 Z71 and put a coil spring spacer on it and could never find front shocks that worked with it.

Go up in tire size any or just make it sit level?

Edit: And thanks! It looks good all cleaned up but has some serious desert pin-striping

I want to go up to 285s but with the 18 inch rim the tires are WAY more expensive than they were when I had 16s

I understand completely...

Mine are 325/60/18 and they hurt the pocket book.. Luckily my truck has only gone about 7000 miles this last year and should be about the same this year so tires aren't going as fast as they used to.

Being a half ton truck that weighs 6K or less I think and 8K winch will be just fine.
