Unfortunately, I did not draw a deer permit for Grapevine this year. I have seen a couple decent bucks and one VERY nice buck while hog hunting back there this year. Anyone hear of any nice deer coming out of there this year? Any pics to share?

one user posted a decent 120 class or so deer he had been chasing that was hit by a car. December I picked up my deer from Syracuse and someone had brought in a high 130 class they got at Grapevine that morning. I'm sure there were dozens of deer taken, some big ones too, if there was another borderline Booner like last year I think word would have got out.

There where two brusiers taken in 10.

So I'm sure if one was shot again it was on the DL...since grapevine went national news last year

I hunted all season very near corp land on some private property. Had lots of good ones on cams but never saw any shooters while hunting. Neighbors had been seeing 170+ deer throughout the season.

Had three shooter bucks but always seemed something happened to prevent any shots. Got busted by a 6 point while waiting for a 135" 8 pointer to clear some brush. I named him "Damn It" and the little one "Eagle Eye Sh-thead". Had a doe lure a nice buck away from my decoy (I guess they like the real thing instead of dolls too... HaHa). And then I had a group of deer that were coming into my area when they were spooked off by some weekend hikers (the hikers never came close enough for a shot - JK). Did shoot a nice sow off GV this year though. Looking to kill a few more pigs over the next few months.

Here is the deer that was hit by the SUV that I was after.

Sow I killed.

Thats a nice one. Shame it got hit by a car.

Deer in the second pic of my post above (mainframe 10 with a kicker off his L G2) made it thru the season -- he showed up on my game cam on New Years morning at legal shooting time... unfortunately, I had slept in. I have him between 130-135 and 4.5-5.5 this year based on other photos -- he should be real nice next year if he doesnt get hit by a car.
