Thoughts on this colder weather? You guys think it will bring in some new ducks? I am lined out to hunt the next three Saturdays and am fired up.

Went out today and there were def a few more new ducks here in north central texas. Saw more mallards then I've seen all year

Sounds like we need it. Buddy said it was a little thin in Fannin Co. All the good groups of gads were head were gone. I bet it's a whole different deal tomorrow.

Definitely brought new ducks saw 43 mallards today on a spot I haven't seen ducks on all year

I saw a few mallards feeding in a ditch along side of the road..literally next to the road!

I think I have yet to hunt in anything below 31, very warm season. Looks like more of the same thru Jan. The big arctic blast will probably come in Feb.

My question is about this wind. Had a great day yesterday with the rain. Mostly gadwalls. But with this heavy wind 25-35 would tomorrow or fri be better to go out? Tomorrow it's supposed to be down to 31 but fri is 28. Or should I hunt both days, lol. Which would be better if I had to pick though?

But more wind is better, big wind limits spots, so you got a good spot protected from wind will help ya.

I saw a ton more birds on a public spot that holds birds but not this many. Saw a bunch in the rain Monday too. Hunting the scouted birds in the AM

ill be out in the am as well, im hoping for some more birds too. When i hunted the rain the other morning, there were quite a bit more than there had been where i was going. Hope they stick around or some more moved in too.

Well dekes are out, hole had some ice, nice light breeze, bright moon; it's a beautiful morn. Good luck to everyone out there in the cold and (finally) little bit of ice! Time to sit and wait for LST.
