I juat got my drake back from the taxidermist. Man he sure does good work. I cant wait to get my Woodie Drake back to add to the wall. 
Working is for people who don't hunt!!!

Good looking bird, but the neck is way over sized and the leaves are cheap.

Man tough crowd here...I've seen worse, my buddy had one done at a taxidermist in mesquite, tx and it looks like it was electrocuted. Worse I've seen and I can't believe he paid the guy.

I felt bad for him so I offered to RE-DO his woodie mount for him and re-use the material and toss the original duck skin. At that time I had only done about 3 ducks as a hobby, turned out ok, my buddy was very appreciative and didn't go App-S@$T on the taxi.

A great mount should look like this. And well worth the 280.00. My first woodie was botch bad because I was too cheap to pay someone that does good work.

Here's one I mounted for the National Show, but ultimately I didn't like it and never took it.  Maybe next time.. 
Overheard at my last convention: "If you wanna make a million bucks in taxidermy, start out with 2 million and in 5 years, if you're lucky, you'll have a million left."

That right thar is what a merg should look like The neck length on that one is the same. The angle is correct though and that makes all of the difference

 Here are two Hoodies that I shot this weekend. Any body have some pics of both the hen and drake mounted? I would appreciate some ideas. Also, I have never mounted waterfowl. Are they in appropriate condition to mount?
