New meaning to mud-motor for waterfowl hunting

Saw this on another forum. Hit something and broke the aluminum braket holding the motor. Hope this doesn't happen to any of the folks here with these type motors.

well if he would have been in 30 foot of water.....

I hit a lot of stumps and what not with my old one and never came close to breaking the bracket like that..must have been full throttle and had his reverse spacer still in.

holy chit! well if he would have been in 30 foot of water.....

It has happened to me...stress riser in frame on motor.Sulphur river.It was scary.But we made it back.
 Guns dont kill people.....bullets do.

That blows, what did he do? From what I read, someone with an air-boat helped him pick the motor up and pulled him back to boat launch. Said he had insurance. Was running with the reverse locked. Apprently not a good thing for a mud motor.

I saw a Go Devil once that the guy just hadnt tightened the bolts down good enough that clamp it on to the transom and the motor almost came off! Would have sucked!
