After seeing this guy show up on camera and while hunting, we let him walk this year. Gonna give him at least another one or maybe even two years. (depends on who I have hunting with me at the time) He's got a little "kicker" off his left side G2. What you guys think of him?? This is Polk County on about 7000 acres low fence

U got a whole lot more self-control than I do! Great buck...

I think he is a great young deer. We have a bunch of nice bucks on our place and this one has a lot of potential. Where this one is seen is near a spot where last year the biggest buck on the place was taken. A 167 B&C!!! Freakin huge for east Texas. And he has a lot of the same characteristics of that it had. Hopefully in a few years he starts to look the same. I watched a lot of 3.5-4.5 yr old bucks walk this year and it was very hard, but for the greater good of the herd and to let the young uns grow, we let them walk and shot the "trash" and cull bucks this year. We had some good ones taken with several 130's and 140's, mostly 8's. I think this one will turn out great in a few years though.

This nice young buck has great potential in a few years. With 7,000 acres, he should be there. We hunt 150 acres and let bucks like this and larger go by every year to grow up although we have neighbors hunting all along one side of us. One buck made it for 7.5 years, so it can be done on small places surrounded by larger acreage that is rarely hunted.
