Nice Buck! I shot a big 8 out of my wifes stand many years ago and she wasn't very happy with me and she wasn't even at the lease when I shot him.
Congrats all around.

The terrain looks just like the area I hunt! We could be neighbors.

First off nice kill!! Congrats, jus thought it was funny how noone had mentioned or commented on the fact that the deer was taken on the run at 300 yds. I got blasted on here the other day for shooting a deer in the head at 100 yds. This situation could have turned out very bad as running shots are very difficult. This shot was way more unethical in my opinion than a 100 yd head shot. Jus sayin.....However it turned out well and the buck was successfully harvested, once again congrats!

Don't kid yourself, she wasn't all that understanding when it happened. She put me in "Time Out" for 2 hours!

Thanks for the congrats. I don't agree with head shots, but to each their own. However, I respect your opinion and realize that we all have our own. Not all shots or all shooters are the same. What one is able to do easily and consistently may be not be the same for the next. The bottom line is, this wasn't a post to debate ethical or unethical shots... just a post from a proud wife about a story that made her smile.

Very nice buck, but I would not have been as understanding - especially since he said he probably wasn't even going to take a gun! That being said, it is good that you are a good sport about his buck. He owes you really big time!
