Hard to tell but looks like the ground was real wet or muddy when the trac was made , that could give it some extra size. Heavy cat or dog. The lion track Ive seen was no doubt a lion

That was why I responded the way I did, no claw marks that I could see, and also canine tracks are usually more pointed than those tracks.
Besides, I have seen a whole bunch of lion tracks in all sorts of different types of dirt and snow up in Colorado.

I'm thinking it was a cat - small mountain lion or really big bobcat? Seems like the claw marks would have showed up if it was canine. Here's one i saw Saturday in the Sabine river bottom. I was just sure it had to have been a been made by a black panther until I got home and looked at some web-sites. I think mine is a really big-arsed dog. Judging from the shape and claw marks on mine, I think Predakiller's is some kind of a cat. Here's another good link showing cat and dog tracks. http://www.bear-tracker.com/caninevsfeline.html

It's hard to say, but I would lean towards a big dog.

In the bottom pic there are claw marks. In the top one with the way the ground is I am not sure if you would see claw marks or not. The type of ground that the track is made on has alot to do with the way the track will look. Last weekend I saw a hughe German Sheperd go down the trail I walk to and from my stand. After my hunt I looked at the tracks and if I had not seen that it was a dog that made the tracks I would have thought it was a cat because there were no claw marks. As I followed the track I found that some had claw marks and some didn't. Like I said it has to do with type of ground the track is made on. Also in the pics above the pad of the track is not shaped like that of a cat. The pad of a cat's track will normally be shaped like an M. Those tracks clearly are not.
