Some observations from recent hunting excursions. Feel free to add to the list. 1. While sitting in a deer stand, you have ever wondered "What the heck is that smell?"...and then realized, "Ooh, that's ME". 2. You have ever shimmed up or performed other structural repairs on a deer stand using only a crushed beer can. 3. You have ever said to your significant other: "Oh honey, I couldn't possibly attend[wedding, family function, social event, fill in the blank] on that date; I will be deer hunting--and she doesn't object. 4. Your significant other announces that she has planned a vacation to Europe with her family, but she didn't bother to include you because she knew it would interfere with deer season. 5. You have arrived at the stand early, only to learn that the raccoons have managed to empty the feeder, but you decide to stick around anyway, just in case. 6. You can't pass a garage sale, scrap heap or pile of garbage at the curb without scrutinizing it for things you can use at the lease. 7. You feel a sense of impending depression as deer season comes to a close. 8. You have ever placed an urgent call to your spouse to inquire just how much space is still available in the deep freeze.

If you've called in sick to work and was really sick but managed to still sit in the blind with a 101 fever.

If you haven't washed the truck since October. If you haven't removed the field gear from the back seat since November. If you haven't washed the blood out of the bed because"you might get another so why waste the time."

Your wife tells you she has no intentions of sleeping alone that night and you tell her to be sure and lock the door after he leaves.
